In the outskirts of Kathmandu Valley, in Nepal, four women are busy to make briquettes in a factory to fulfill the energy demands of Kathmandu Valley which is suffering from electricity and fuel shortage. The work is seasonal when there is not much agriculture work to do. They are working on daily wage base and they get 200 rupees per day.
The green hands inside the briquettes factory is not only empowering themselves but also contributing to the energy demands of Kathmandu Valley in a eco-friendly way. The names of the women with green hands are Beli Tamang, Suku Maya Tamang, Kamala Tamang and Kanchi Tamang.
